A farewell to music: Andrea Danzer-Winterstätter and her choir

BRAUNAU. Andrea Danzer-Winterstätter, who has headed the Braunau choir "Da Capo Non Fine" for 36 years, will say goodbye to her office on Saturday, October 12, under the title "Thank you for the music". This announcement marks the end of an impressive era for the choir and the community that has gathered for music over the years.

"Da Capo Non Fine" began as a youth choir of the parish of Braunau St. Stephan and has since had a remarkable career. Three of the original young people are still active today and sing with passion in the choir. Over the years of spiritual music, the group switched to a wide range of musical styles, including madrigals, classical music, jazz arrangements and pop songs. "The diversity is still crucial for us," explains Danzer-Winterstätter and reflects on the development of the choir.

anticipation for the concert

The audience can look forward to a lively evening, in which the "Favorite Band des Chores" with Ernst Kreuzmaier and Sebastian Kreil, supported by a drummer, will appear. The school choir of the Braunau middle school, also under its leadership, will also make a contribution.

Danzer Winterstätter is known for her enthusiasm for the music and your lively performance. "The music has to live, it has to touch the listeners," she says. Their goal is to create art through emotional interpretations that take the audience into another world. "Singing grades is only the first step; art only arises when we enrich melodies with feeling."

a new way

A special surprise will be that Danzer-Winterstätter, instead of standing on the desk, takes up their place in the series of soprano. Her successor as a choir director will be Sophiia Wegang, who has been accompanying the choir for a year.

For the concert on October 12, students pay 10 euros, while admission for children is free of charge. This remains an opportunity for families to enjoy a special evening and celebrate the farewell of an inspiring choir director.
