North Korean soldiers in Ukraine: Selenskyj confirms wounds!
In the Russian border region of Kursk, Ukrainian armed forces made significant progress by capturing two North Korean soldiers. This information was published by the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj on Saturday. The two soldiers who were injured in the fights are to be brought to Kiev, where they receive the necessary medical care, as Selenskyj announced on platform X. In particular, the president emphasized the services of the special units that managed to catch the North Korean fighters alive, as the Russian and North Korean armed forces generally execute wounded soldiers to cover up their participation in the Ukraine War. The political reactions from Moscow and Pyongyang have so far failed, reports the Krone .
The losses on the front
In addition to this spectacular capture, Selenskyj also pointed out the enormous losses that North Korean troops in the Kursk region suffer. According to the Ukrainian President, the North Korean-Russian units in attacks by Ukrainian armed forces have been significantly decimated. This underlines the reports on the mobilization of up to 11,000 North Korean soldiers to strengthen Russian troops. Some of these units are drawn into the field with so -called "human wave tactics", which means that large amounts of soldiers are sent in the battle, despite the prospect of high losses, such as the fr.de reported. The Ukrainian armed forces have recently published recordings that show the body of fallen soldiers who are to be identified as North Korean. These video recordings that have been shared on a telegram channel show the bodies lying in the snow, but cannot currently be verified independently. Nevertheless, the references to the active participation of North Korean troops in the fights in the region multiply, whereby reports on their involvement in military missions have been listed again and again since October. Selenskyj said that these troops are now integrated into Russian units and could also be used on other fronts.
