Fire brigade use in Oberwaltersdorf: Great fire in the house
On Sunday morning, a violent fire broke out in an abandoned house in Oberwaltersdorf, in the Baden district, which quickly attracted numerous fire brigade. Six firefighters with a total of 98 volunteers were deployed to control the fire. Due to the intensive heat and the fire that had already broken out, which had captured the rear part of the house, immediate action was required.
When the first extinguishing forces arrived, the ground floor area of the house was already in full fire. In order to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings, two extinguishing lines were immediately set up. However, the emergency services were initially forced to forcefully gain access to the blocked property by breaking down doors and windows in order to be able to carry out the necessary extinguishing measures.

The extinguishing work was particularly challenging, since many objects were stored inside the house that made it difficult to extinguish. However, the fire brigade was able to successfully curb the fire, which had already spread to parts of the roof. After about two hours of intensive use, the helpers managed to completely extinguish the flames without injuries. The cause of the fire is currently still unclear, and fire investigators started their investigations in the morning.
Because of the extensive extinguishing work, the B210 also had to be blocked in the local area, which led to traffic disruptions. Fortunately, rescue workers were also on willingness to support the firefighters in the event of an emergency.
Another incident occurred on Saturday evening in Wiener Neustadt, where a fire broke out in a garden hut. The flames threatened to attack an adjacent multi -party house, which is why the fire brigade was immediately alerted. Some residents had to be brought to safety from heavily smoky apartments.
The operation was also demanding here, since several bangs were registered on site that indicated an increased risk. Operations manager Christian Pfeiffer emphasized that the rapid use of the fire brigade was decisive to prevent the fire from spreading to the entire building. These two incidents illustrate the constant vigilance and the operational readiness of the volunteer fire brigades in the region.
