Woodquarter Roots: An evening full of music and stories in the hedgehog

The folk club "Hedgehog" in Waidhofen an der Thaya was recently a melting pot for musicians with roots in the Waldviertel. On an evening that was under the motto "Woodquarter Roots", the band "Bad Ida" presented a mixture of various music styles, while Paul Dangl's project "Fretless" delighted with jazzy arrangements of traditional work songs.

The chairman Karl Hermann called "Bad Ida" a kind of Waldviertel All-Star band. The musicians Ines Dallaji, Alexander Lausch, Gernot Hochstöger and Marc Bruckner bring big talents on stage - but a planned guest musician, Stefan Haslinger, could not appear due to an illness. However, this did not detract from the enthusiasm of the audience.

for the front woman of "Bad Ida", Ines Dallaji, the "hedgehog" is the place of her musical beginnings. Already at the age of 15 she was on stage for the first time. "It meant for me to catch the music virus," she recalled. The return to this place is considered to be particularly meaningful for you, since it can now present her own project that combines elements from garage soul and various other genre influences.

One of the highlights of the performance is the powerful voice of Dallaji, which in combination with RNB, rock ’n 'roll and melancholy knows how to captivate. "Bad Ida" offers a unique mix that sweeps the audience and captivates.

Paul Dangl and the voices of the past

Paul Dangl is also a well -known size in the music scene that has its roots in the folk club. With his band "Fretless", he interprets work songs that come from African -American history. These songs that were sung in difficult times tell of suffering, exploitation and hope of a better future. The emotional depth of this music is reinforced by the jazzy harmonies of Dangl's band.

The band "Fretless" sat down together from Tobias Vedovelli, Paul Dangl, Franziska Katzlinger and Mahan Mirarab and knew how to convince with calm and catchy performances. The works that they presented took the audience into the world of seafarers, railway workers and other historical figures that expressed their longing and pain.

The concert in the hedgehog became an unforgettable evening, on which the roots of the Waldviertel musicians came to life and the guests kidnapped into a multifaceted world of sound. A nice proof that music beats and arouses emotions, even many years after the first appearances.
