The focus of the event was on two talented chefs: Matthias Ambrozy from the Ambrozy restaurant in Nondorf and the prestigious hood chef Bernhard Zimmerl, who led the reins in the kitchen in the foggy mix. Together they presented a variety of delicious dishes that embodied the Region's flavors and products.
a festival for the palate
The dishes offered a wonderful insight into the culinary diversity of the Waldviertel. Among other things, guests enjoyed baked potatoes and carp pizza. The Waldviertel Jakobsmussel and the Panna Cotta, which was refined with whiskey and fir dust, was particularly noteworthy. The maroning soup with wild boar wan and the main course of deer and beets are other delicious creations that the chefs created.
But the event not only offered delicacies. Art also played a crucial role. The freelance artist Judith Kerndl demonstrated her skills by painting a picture of one of the main actors of the evening, the Earth apple. The guests were able to look over her shoulder and step into a creative exchange.
"With two fully booked events, we were able to achieve a successful start of the Waldviertel table culture," says Tom Bauer, Managing Director of Destination Waldviertel GmbH. "The positive feedback from the participants confirms that we will continue this successful course next year. We would like to continue to use Waldviertler Köch: inside, producer: inside, craftsmen: inside and artists: back in the spotlight inside." The event showed how strong nature, culinary and art are connected to each other in the Waldviertel, and visitors could not only taste it, but also feel.
