Opening of the renovated school in Vitis: a profit for education

On Friday, November 22nd, the ceremonial opening of the general renovated elementary and middle school took place in Vitis. This event marks the conclusion of a comprehensive construction project that took four years and cost the impressive sum of 7.5 million euros.

The renovation work included several important improvements. Since 2018, building technology has been gradually modernized and insulation has been installed in order to increase the school's energy efficiency. The conversion for afternoon care was also completed. In the course of this modernization, 183 windows were also exchanged, the roof was covered and the facade is now shining in new splendor. The classrooms were also redesigned to create a more appealing learning environment.

Mayor Anette Töpfl emphasized the importance of this project with the words: "Our goal was to create an improved learning environment for our students. Thanks to all teachers and the directors for the flexibility and perseverance during the construction phase - the lessons took place parallel to the construction work."

architect Rudolf Schwingenschlögl emphasized that a comprehensive security concept for the entire building was developed and the project was realized in four construction stages. He also thanked for the good cooperation with most local companies that were involved in the project.

Alfred Grünäudl, the education director of Lower Austria, was pleased with the investment and said: "It is not a matter of course that a community takes so much money in hand. But it was worth it and the feel -good factor is very high, so that learning can really succeed."

Federal Councilor Viktoria Hutter underlined the central role of education: "School forms personality where talents and dreams can be lived."

The opening ceremony was musically framed by the pupils, while the new school blessed by Dechant Josef Rennhofer. This event shows the commitment of the community for the education and development of its young people.
