Citizens' Café in Waidhofen: Results for a better future

The municipality of Waidhofen an der Thaya invites all interested citizens to a special event. On Thursday, November 14th at 6 p.m., the city hall opens its doors for a citizen café, in which the results of the recently carried out workshops are presented. These events not only have the goal of exchanging information, but also hearing the voice of the Waidhofner and developing new ideas.

A total of 28 randomly selected citizens were part of a special citizen council who dealt with basic questions that affect the future of the city for three evenings. Two central topics were discussed: On the one hand, it was considered how, despite the global challenges, the development for a good life on a healthy planet in your own community can be promoted. On the other hand, the question was what it takes so that Waidhofen and its citizens can look optimistically into the future.

insights into the workshops

The workshops offered the participants the opportunity to express their thoughts and concerns, while at the same time they were able to collect suggestions for the future orientation of the community. The citizens' councils play a crucial role because they bring the opinions of the population directly into the exchange with the city responsible. This dialogue is particularly important to understand the needs of the community and to develop solutions.

Every Waidhofner is invited to participate in this evening and bring in new ideas. It is an excellent opportunity to actively participate in the design of the future of the community and to talk to other committed citizens.
