Improvement of traffic safety: Working on state roads B 220 and L 11 in Gänserndorf completed

Several projects for more traffic safety implemented

In the Gänserndorf area, three construction projects were recently completed that aimed to improve traffic safety. The state road B 220 in the local area of Gänserndorf was redesigned on a distance of around 590 meters. The state of Lower Austria invested a total of 280,000 euros in this work carried out by the Porr company in a construction period of around three months. During the construction work, the traffic was maintained on just one lane, only for the asphalting work there was a two -week closure of the state road B 220.

The renovation of the road was necessary because cracks and croaps had occurred and the road no longer met the modern requirements. The bituminous layers were removed up to a depth of ten centimeters and the road was then provided with a new layer of support and cover.

In addition, a walking and bike path was built on the eastern side of the street to improve traffic safety for pedestrians and cyclists. This path is up to three meters wide and separated from motorized traffic by deep or sloping sorts. The costs of around 590,000 euros are borne by the state of Lower Austria and the municipality of Gänserndorf.

Furthermore, the drainage facilities were also adapted to the new circumstances. The total costs for the roadway renovation of the state road B 220 amount to around 280,000 euros and are covered by the state of Lower Austria.

The renovation of the state road L 11 in the open -air area in front of Gänserndorf Süd was also completed. On a distance of around 900 meters, the bituminous layers were milled and renewed to remove displacements and track channels. The work was carried out by the Leyrer + Graf company in a week. Finally, the banquet is adapted to the new stock to complete the work. The costs of around 270,000 euros are fully borne by the state of Lower Austria.

These measures serve to increase traffic safety in the Gänserndorf region. The state of Lower Austria has invested in all projects to create safer roads for the residents and road users.
