New study places in Tulln: This is how the health sector is strengthened!
In 2026, the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences expects a decisive new beginning at the Biotech Campus in Tulln. In order to meet the increasing demand for experts in the healthcare sector, 16 new study places in biomedical analysis (BMA) are being created here. This was announced in a meeting between representatives of the Tulln University Hospital, the FH Wiener Neustadt and the Lower Austrian State Health Agency. From the summer semester onwards, students have the opportunity to begin their clinical internships in the Lower Austrian state and university hospitals, such as meinkreis.at reported.
The need for this expansion is primarily driven by the impending retirement of the baby boomer generation, which is expected to result in an acute shortage of skilled workers in areas such as biomedical analytics and radiology technology. In order to intensify training in these essential disciplines, the FH Wiener Neustadt has taken targeted measures. From autumn 2025, the bachelor's degree in “Biomedical Analytics” will be offered at the Tulln location. The noen.at emphasizes that this initiative not only creates professional prospects for aspiring specialists, but also improves the laboratory infrastructure of the Biotech Campus Tulln.
An important step for health education
By creating the new study location, Tulln will also be further developed as an educational hub, which will benefit students from the northern region of Lower Austria. The combination of better accessibility and practical training on site could help to sustainably promote the health sector and overcome local challenges. The FH Wiener Neustadt is thus placing a significant emphasis on the future of the healthcare professions in order to meet the increasing demands in the healthcare system.
