Königstetten: Sporty accuracy for young and old in the shooting club

In Königstetten, the local shooting club invited the members of Meinverein to an exciting afternoon, in which they were able to get to know the exciting aspects of shooting sports. The Königstetten shooting club, which has existed since 1972, has around 60 members in the region. Around 15 of them are actively participating in the competition.

chief shooter Elisabeth Schneckenleitner said that both air rifle and air pistol sports and even crossbow shooting are offered in the club. The association is also involved in customs care by the pillory shooters, who often cause a stir with their traditions. Interested spectators, whether young or old - the minimum age is around 8 years - are welcome to try out the sports at the club evenings. All required devices and shooting clothing are provided, so that nobody has to be deterred without experience.

regular training for everyone

The club's training offer takes place twice a week, every Monday and Thursday. Here both the technical skill and training for the competition is used. After training, the members have the opportunity to analyze their progress and techniques in shared exchange. A sociable final round rounds off the training evenings and promotes the team spirit.

The chairwoman not only sees the shooting club as a sports facility, but also as a place of education. She emphasizes that, especially in young people, positive effects on school performance can be determined by training concentration, coordination and mental strength. These positive aspects help to better present shooting sports in public and to reduce the negative perception that has recently been created by various events. In addition, the support of parents is crucial to promote young people.

sporting successes and services

The members of the shooting club have achieved impressive success over the years in various competitions. Kronthaler Andreas became an outstanding shooter, as did Margit Pregesbauer, who was in 1992 Junior European Champion in the air rifle and, among other things, became the world champion in the crossbow in 2001. Kleemann Michael also won several medals in this discipline, including a world championship title in 2017 and placements at various team world championships.

The shooting club Königstetten has established itself as a popular place for sporting activities, where fun and commitment are very important. The members are always happy about new faces that show interest in this fascinating sport.
