New Grillparzer Campus opens: Modern learning in St. Pölten

A new chapter for the educational landscape was opened in the heart of St. Pölten on October 17th. The Grillparzer Campus, a modern educational center that was put into operation in September, was opened in a celebratory ceremony. The festival began with a packed program that included musical performances by students from the music school and the Grillparzer elementary school.

Mayor Matthias Stadler expressed his enthusiasm about this important milestone: “The new Grillparzer Campus stands as a symbol of modern learning and community interaction.” The campus combines the Grillparzer elementary school, the music school and the art school, which not only enables new pedagogical approaches but also innovative use of the rooms. This is intended to promote collaboration between teachers and students of different age groups.

A future-oriented project

Head of the Cultural Office Alfred Kellner emphasized that the Grillparzer Campus is one of the special buildings in St. Pölten. With polygonal shapes, spacious green spaces and state-of-the-art facilities, the campus offers new ways of learning. “The conditions for creative and interdisciplinary educational approaches have been created here,” continued Kellner.

Particular emphasis was placed on the acoustics in the new rooms. The music school is now equipped with its own orchestra room, various classrooms and a ballroom that can accommodate up to 180 people. Music school director Lukas Schönsgibl explained the advantages: “The Grillparzer Campus opens up new opportunities for our orchestral work and the dance department, which are raised to a new level by the modern rooms.”

The new premises are not only technically state-of-the-art, but also offer the opportunity to work creatively without spatial restrictions. The design of the rooms promotes the different subjects and their specific needs. This is a crucial step in the development of musical talent in the region.

Modern pedagogy for elementary schools

The new campus also brings significant improvements to the elementary school. New, modern classrooms and an expansion of all-day care create the conditions for contemporary teaching. School district manager Andreas Schmidt sees this development as an opportunity for the students at Grillparzer elementary school: “Equipping with interactive boards and WiFi will significantly support the learning process.” The new garden area with a fun court also invites children to take part in sporting activities.

The direct access between the facilities, which was made possible by converting Grillparzerstrasse into a pedestrian zone, makes it easier for students to access the various learning locations. Parents and teachers alike are excited to see what new opportunities will arise with this modern infrastructure.

In summary, it can be said that the Grillparzer Campus is not only an architectural highlight, but also paves the way to a new era of education in St. Pölten. The creative collaboration and flexible learning opportunities ensure that students can be supported in a variety of ways, benefiting their personal and academic development.
