Kijubu 2024: A festival of literary diversity for young readers in St. Pölten
The 21st International Children's and Youth Book Festival "Kijubu" in St. Pölten promises an exciting week full of literature and creative activities. From Monday, November 4th to Sunday, November 10, 2024, a total of 80 events will be presented. More than 30 authors will enrich the festival with its impressive program items, which will take place in various locations in the cultural district and in the city center.
The new venues, including the renovated former synagogue, are particularly noteworthy, the cathedral square as an expansion of the city library and the children's art laboratory. These different locations offer a unique ambience for the different events.diverse program for young readers
The program is aimed at children and adolescents aged four to 18 and offers a wide range of activities. From a creepy pleasure to exciting thrillers to workshops in the recording studio, theater performances, readings and picture book cinemas - there is something for everyone. In the morning, special readings, workshops, performances and guided tours for school classes are on the plan to introduce the students to the world of literature.
For families, the festival will also offer clear experiences on selected days. On Monday, November 4th and on Wednesday, November 6th, from 1 p.m. and on Sunday, November 10th, from 9 a.m., families can discover the world of books. On Wednesday, November 6th, a variety of activities will be offered in the Museum Lower Austria, including creative stations, a picture book cinema and an exciting hands-on theater. On Sunday, November 10th, a scavenger hunt, a reading and even a magic show are waiting for the young guests.
No registrations are necessary for the family program. In addition, families on Sunday, November 6, have the opportunity to get to the Museum Lower Austria for free, while on Wednesday, November 6th, admission for children and adolescents up to 18 years is free.
