Over -indebtedness in Saarland: decline despite increasing bankruptcy!

Saarbrücken, Deutschland - "Buy now, pay later"-the seductive offer that many lured into debt traps in the online shops, apparently loses shine! The latest figures from the debtor atlas of the Creditreform business information show a gratifying trend: fewer and fewer people in Saarland are over -indebted. The number of those affected has been falling continuously for years and has now reached a new low.

Currently around 5.5 million people in Germany are considered to be debt, but the Saarland stands out: Here the over -indebtedness rate has fallen to 9.2 percent, which corresponds to around 78,600 Saarlanders. This means a decline of 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous year. The reasons? A decline in the over-indebted persons by around 1,000 and a positive census effect that has increased the population in Saarland.

over -indebtedness and increasing insolvencies

Not everything is rosy! While the overall numbers are falling, Saarbrücken and Neunkirchen are still strongholds of over -indebtedness. However, the number of people who are over-indebted has decreased significantly in the Merzig-Wadern, Saarlouis and Saarpfalz districts. On the other hand, there is worrying news: the corporate bankruptcies in Saarland rose by about a quarter to almost 200. Creditreform warns that this increase could also drive up unemployment - and thus increase the risk of over -indebtedness. Unemployment remains the main reason for financial emergencies!

Developments in Saarland are an exciting topic that is also considered nationwide. While the people in Saarland can breathe a sigh of relief, the situation remains tense, and the coming months could be crucial for the financial stability of many households.
