Neunkirchen-Seelscheid: Technical defect leads to kitchen fire
In the early morning of October 19, the Neunkirchen-Seelscheid volunteer fire brigade was alerted when a resident of the Eulenweg discovered a fire in the former dairy kitchen of her farm. Glowing flames hit the windows when the fire brigade arrived with 30 emergency services. Operations manager Roland Küpper and his team immediately do everything possible to extinguish the fire, whereby they went on both outside and through the internal attack.
The firefighters quickly reported that the flames were under control, but the smoke pulled out of the window openings for some time. According to the police, the kitchen equipment, which was equipped with electrical devices, caused a technical defect to accept a technical defect. The resident, who was alone at home, noticed the fire after trying to switch on the light due to a power failure and heard a bang.
injured and other security measures
Fortunately, neither humans nor animals were injured. While the fire brigade carried out the extinguishing work, a gas bottle blew off. This was safely brought outside and placed in a garbage can filled with water. The fire brigade also used a high -pressure fan to blow the smoke out of the building. The stable, firmly brick walls of the old barn prevented the fire from spreading to the adjacent old stable. In order to counteract possible embers, Küpper had the aerial ladder set up to check the roof structure. In the past, considerable hay had been stored there, but no further fire nests had to be feared. The criminal police will now start the investigation into the exact cause of the fire.
The former dairy kitchen could be saved in good time thanks to the rapid reaction of the fire brigade. If the resident had not randomly switched on the light, the fire could have spread unnoticed. The damage incurred is estimated at several ten thousand euros.
