Neunkirchen: Reviewed elevator, rent in danger - tenants in need
The Neunkirchner GesmbH & Co KG is currently carrying out a project to retrofit elevators in the multi -party houses of Stroblgasse. This project, which is based on the wish of the house residents, has unexpected financial consequences for the tenants: existing funding loans had to be paid prematurely, which leads to the cancellation of residential aid. This has already brought this into trouble.
A affected tenant, Brankica Hedji, who was able to count on support from residential aid until the end of September, is alerted. In contrast, two other tenants have already lost their aid at the end of August. Another exemplary case is that of 76-year-old Maria Müller, who reports on her financial emergency. With a minimum pension of 1,100 euros, she sees herself confronted not to be able to pay for her 68 square meter apartment.
unexpected financial burdens
"I am receiving 1,100 euros in a minimum board. If this continues, I will soon no longer afford my apartment," explains Müller. The deposit for her expected loss of 240 euros in residential aid hits her particularly hard, especially since she has firmly expected the support. "I would have refrained from having the elevator installed if I knew that the living allowance would be canceled," says the tenant, who has lived in Stroblgasse since 2003. During the talks with Neunkirchner GesmbH & Co KG, it was only communicated that rents would increase by ten euros - an amount that she thought was portable and which she approved.
Müller asks how to put the amount of its rent of 540 euros without the residential allowance. Your monthly income is not enough to cover costs and livelihood. "It will be difficult," sums up the concerned senior citizen.
political reactions and future solutions
The tenants are not alone with their situation. This problem has also attracted the attention of urban politics. SPÖ City Councilor Günther Kautz said that he has already exchanged a tenant on this topic. He plans to send a questionnaire to the mayor and the parliamentary group leaders to find answers to the concerns of the tenants. A relevant question is whether there will be a way to reduce rents from the Neunkirchner GesmbH & Co KG in order to partially compensate for the cancellation of the residential allowance.
For the 76-year-old tenant and similar households, it is only to be hoped that their financial issues will be taken into account in political considerations. More information about the developments on this topic can here become.
