Club afternoon in Mistelbach: experience shooting sports and community

Mistletoe stream: The lively atmosphere at the Mistelbach shooting club ensures that things are always exciting there. Recently, numerous sports shooters crowded into the air pressure range to take part in a club afternoon and the winter championship. These events not only attract young and old, but also provide a platform for talented shooters to compete in various disciplines. The field of participants was extremely diverse, from young people to women and men to hunters who have a valid hunting license.

The winter championship, which is held with both air pistols and air rifles, takes place regularly until the beginning of March 2025. The award ceremony will take place at the end of February or beginning of March. Anyone who is interested should regularly visit the association's website to stay up to date. During leisure events, the clubhouse not only ensures warm temperatures, but also a cozy atmosphere with a wide range of drinks and snacks.

Training opportunities for hunters

In addition to the shooting events, the Lower Austrian Hunting Association offers various seminars at the Mistelbach shooting club. This includes introductory and advanced seminars for handguns, which are open to all hunters with a valid Lower Austria hunting card. Furthermore, a special training course, the “Running Boar” seminar, is offered. Here, the participants practice shooting at moving objects - an important exercise before a wild boar or wild boar hunt, which is often used by hunters.

Another point on the shooting club's program is the opportunity to acquire a firearms license, which is taught both theoretically and practically. In addition, those interested can take a weapons psychological reliability report after prior registration. This is particularly important to ensure that participants meet the necessary requirements for the safe handling of weapons.

The shooting club's 100m rope system, however, is used all year round for target and control shooting. Here not only members, but also hunters have the opportunity to check their weapons for their suitability for use. Qualified instructors supervise participants to ensure safe and effective shooting practice. However, it is necessary to secure a date in advance as space and weather conditions may affect this.

The performance of the Mistelbach shooting club is also impressive. In recent years the club has won many championship titles and its members are regularly represented at national and international competitions. Some of the shooters have even taken part in the Olympic Games as well as in the World and European Championships. These successful athletes are happy to pass on their valuable knowledge and experience to newcomers and interested parties.

Beginner seminars and event information

In the near future, the Mistelbach shooting club is planning beginners' seminars in air force shooting and sport shooting with handguns and long guns. Those interested should look forward to advertisements and invitations on the club website. A very special event will also take place on December 7th: the traditional handgun Krampus shooting. Both experienced shooters and beginners are welcome to test their skills at a distance of 10 meters. Rental weapons will be provided, and after the award ceremony there will be attractive prizes and vouchers to be won.

But the Mistelbach shooting club is not just about shooting. The board organizes a variety of events, including gun law seminars, lectures on first aid and cultural events such as traditional costume afternoons. In addition, an educational trip to Salzburg to the international “Hunting and Fishing” trade fair is scheduled for February 22, 2025, to which all interested parties are invited.

The Mistelbach shooting club has established itself as a popular location for team building events, company outings and even birthday parties. Depending on the occasion and the age of the guests, appropriate programs and activities are put together. Of course, culinary accompaniment is also considered, often in the form of barbecues or similar.

Those interested can find further information, photos and reports from events on the club website www.schuetzenverein-mistelbach.org find. The senior marksman Josef Kohzina and the team are also happy to answer any questions.

All hail!
