Traditional Hendl-Schnapsen in Niederleis: A Feast of Comradeship

A lively evening took place in Niederleis when the Austrian Comradeship Association, Local Association of Niederleis, invited to the thirtieth Hendl-Schnapsen. Led by chairman Franz Hammer, the event was a complete success. The "farmer", an inn at the foot of the picturesque Buschberg, was filled to the last place.

The large number of guests and prominent officials who accepted the invitation was particularly impressive. The attendees included Walter Kirchsteiger, the ÖKB main district chairman, and the district association chairman Hans Lehner. The participants, including the honorary chairman Franz Meisl, made the evening unforgettable through their commitment and enthusiasm.

special guests and exciting games

The local mayor Klaus Mantler and his vice, Stefan Wittmann, also showed up. They gathered with other community representatives from Niederleis and the surrounding communities in the inn. That evening they showed their skill while snaps, a card game in which chickens and prices were played.

Over two hundred young chickens that were bred in the region changed the owner. While the men were having around the chickens, the ladies came to the train in the dice game. It was played by almost seventy prizes that had been carefully prepared. The sociable evening not only offered entertainment, but also the opportunity for many to demonstrate their card tricks and cube skill.

non -profit purposes in focus

An important aspect of the Hendl Schnapsen was the non-profit benefit of the event. "The net proceeds are used to maintain and maintain war graves, memorial sites and monuments as well as for social projects," said chairman Franz Hammer with great conviction. The success of the evening is not only measured by the fun and joy of the participants, but also by the positive influence that it has on the community.

The preparations for the next year are already underway, and the most nine-thirty Hendl Schnapsen is being planned. This shows the commitment of everyone involved not only to preserve traditions, but also to strengthen the community spirit in Niederleis. Such events help to ensure that the memories and history remain alive and at the same time are tackled up to date with contemporary social tasks.

Overall, the evening was a successful mix of tradition, conviviality and a clear commitment to social values. For Franz Hammer and his team, this is only the beginning. The next challenges are already on the agenda while the comrades are preparing for the upcoming events.
