The Stadtwerke Bayreuth will adapt their timetables for the city buses on December 15th. This project aims to improve the transport offer for the citizens without driving up the costs. The basis for these changes is detailed analyzes of the passenger numbers and close cooperation with the city administration.

Currently, the city bus lines consist of 20 routes, which are operated by around 35 vehicles. Most of these buses work with an environmentally friendly organic CNG, an alternative fuel that causes less harmful emissions. The fleet is operated by a total of 65 drivers, which together achieve an impressive mileage of around 2.1 million kilometers per year. A high use of the buses is particularly evident at peak times, such as the beginning and end of everyday school life. Managing Director Markus Rützel emphasizes: "Our offer is well received, there are hardly any empty trips."

The adjustments to the timetable are a reaction to the collected data on the use of the city buses. In view of around 6.3 million passengers annually, it is crucial that the offer is designed efficiently and as required. The adjustments want to ensure that passengers continue to receive reliable and practical service.
