Refurbishment of the Lilienfeld Abbey: A jewel of history will soon shine!

In the run-up to the 800th anniversary of the consecration of the church in 2030, the Cistercian Stift Lilienfeld, one of the most important monasteries in Austria, received a comprehensive general renovation that is already divided into several construction stages. Most recently, the Lower Austrian state government announced the promotion of the renovation work on Friday with a sum of 150,000 euros. The Lilienfeld Abbey, which was founded in 1202, has developed over the centuries into a central station at Via Sacra, a traditional pilgrimage path between Vienna and Mariazell.
