New kindergarten group in Lilienfeld strengthens family offerings
Last weekend, an important project for early childhood care was inaugurated in Lilienfeld. The previously three-group kindergarten offer in Klosterrotte 6 was expanded by the expansion as part of the "Blue-Yellow Childcare Office" in Lower Austria by a fourth group and another day care facility. This measure is intended to strengthen the needs of families in the region and offer them improved care of their children.
Mayor Manuel Aichberger, who took part in the inauguration, was praised by family state councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister for his commitment. "Thanks to Mayor Manuel Aichberger and his team of politics and administration that as a strong partner of the state of Lower Austria, they invested in the expansion of childcare," she said. For this project, the state of Lower Austria will contribute more than 550,000 euros to support the structural changes.
numbers that speak for themselves
The success of the blue-yellow care offensive can now also be seen in the latest statistics. According to the monitoring report on the elementary education 2023/24 of statistics Austria, visiting rates for under 3 year olds in Lower Austria are 36.3%, which is above the Austrian average of 34.9% and even above the target of Barcelona of 33%. In the 3- to 5-year-olds, Lower Austria leads with an impressive quota of 98.3% and thus also exceeds the Barcelona goal of 96%.
The consistency in the individual years is particularly striking, where Lower Austria has the highest care rates: for the 2-year-olds, the quota is 78.7%, the 3-year-olds are already 97.2%and even 99%for the 4-year-olds. These figures show how much the country and the communities strive for a good network of childcare offers.
"These numbers underpin the efforts from the state of Lower Austria and its communities for the good network of childcare offers across the country," continued Teschl-Hofmeister. With the expansion, 250 new groups are also put into operation nationwide, and a total of around 615 groups are planned by 2027 to meet the increasing demand for qualified childcare places.
This not only improves the offer for the youngest in society, but also makes it easier for parents to reconcile work and family - an aspect that is becoming increasingly important today. The positive developments can only be an advantage for the families concerned.
The ceremonial opening included high -ranking representatives from politics, including the kindergarten inspector Veronika Stamminger, city councilor Annemarie Mitterlehner as well as the head of the day care facility Renate Fellner and the head of the Elke Gratzl kindergarten. Together they emphasized the importance of this expansion for the local community.
