At the fourth Lower Austria teacher and teacher day in the VAZ St. Pölten, Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner has expressed her "incredible pride in our sensational educators". In particular, she emphasized her outstanding performance during the flood disaster, in which she quickly restored the normal operation of the schools despite the massive impairment of the infrastructure.
The governor emphasized the importance of relieving schools from bureaucracy. By providing over 200 administrative assistance for around 500 compulsory schools in Lower Austria and a recently decided relief package in the National Council, the administrative effort for teachers is reduced.
In addition, Mikl-Leitner spoke about the unwillingness to integrate many students in urban areas. She called for clear consequences and advocated an increase in the penalty for violations of parental obligation to cooperate.
The use of smartphones in schools was also discussed as a major challenge. Mikl-Leitner emphasized that there must be more awareness and a common understanding between parents, teachers and students.
The teacher day was under the motto "promoting talent and talent". The diversity of the school system enables children and adolescents to promote the talents of children and adolescents through various priorities, competitions and workshops. Mikl-Leitner emphasized that teachers not only convey knowledge, but also have competence to promote talents.
Bildungslandesrätin Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister thanked the educators for their committed work. It also emphasized the importance of promoting the talents and talents of the teachers themselves, which are often restricted by bureaucratic hurdles.
