On-site climate protection: Seminar on sustainability in Krems-Stein
In times when climate change and the crisis of biodiversity are becoming increasingly pressing, it is time to become active. Recognizing this is the first step. The topic is particularly relevant due to the increasing frequency of extreme weather events, such as the devastating flood cases, for example in Spain or in our region. It is crucial not only to know that there is a need for action, but also how to act effectively.
An important event on this topic is imminent: On December 16, 2024, the seminar "Sustainability realized-Best Practice for cities and municipalities" takes place in the Krems-Stein town hall. This seminar is organized by the Science & Environment Forum and is aimed at a variety of interested parties, including mayors: inside, environmental community: inside, KEM manager: inside, official director: inside, and many more. The event aims to offer specialists and committed people from the region a platform to discuss best practice in sustainability.
opening presentation and workshops
The seminar continues a number of events that were launched in 2017. The Mayor of Krems Mag. Peter Molnar will open the event with a key department via "Krems - The Way to Energy Autarkie". This topic is particularly important because it responds to the challenges and possibilities that Krems has in the direction of sustainable energy management.
Furthermore, various renowned scientists will be present: inside and experts who work in workshops with the participants: work inside. These include:
- em.o.univ.prof.in Dr.in Phil. Helga Kromp-Kolb, expert in climate protection
- o. Univ.-Prof.in Diin Dr.in Gerlind Weber, spatial planning specialist
- di Helmut Koch, who deals with mobility issues
- Petra Hirner, MSC, who are familiar with biodiversity issues
These experts will not only give lectures, but also have interactive discussions and share their experience and knowledge with the participants. This should be a space in which questions can be raised and solutions can be found.
For those interested, there is detailed information on the program on the homepage of the Science & Environment Forum and a registration link. In this seminar, the central issues of sustainability are highlighted in urban and municipal space, which is a significant added value for all participants, especially at a time when environmental pollution is increasing.
With participation in such important events, the participants can actively contribute to set the course for a more sustainable future. This remains the hope that more people consciously deal with the challenges of climate change and biodiversity and take concrete measures.
The importance of such seminars cannot be assessed highly enough, because the topics affect us all. It is therefore essential that city administrations, citizens: inside and organizations are merging to work out community solutions.
