Review of the mobility series driving with: challenges in the Horn district

After twelve intensive weeks, the mobility series "Driving with" in the Horn district comes to an end and we take a look back at the many exciting topics that were treated during this time. The aim was to shed light on different aspects of mobility in order to make both the challenges and the achievements of commuters and drivers visible in the region.

At the beginning of the series, the focus was on the safety of school routes. Fortunately, it was found here that the examined school routes in the district passed the test. The police commitment plays a crucial role in the security near schools. "Any police patrol available takes over the security of the Rayon in the nearby area of schools, where increased traffic has to be expected," said district police commander Birgit Geitzenauer.

pendulum time and personal stories

Another highlight was the search for the "super commuter". The focus was on telling stories of commuters and making their challenges clear. As an example, Eva reports on her decision to take on a job directly in the Horn district after many years of commuting to Vienna. "The trip to the train station, then by train to Vienna, there in the subway and previously two stations with the tram-that was too much time loss for me. I had to get up at 5 a.m. and often came home late," she said. Finally, this routine made it to recognize the advantages of a local job and improve their quality of life.

In addition, we illuminated the topic of driving license tests. A particularly exciting element was the return of a journalist to a theoretical driver's license test, which unfortunately did not bring the desired results. Christoph Fuchs said of his difficulties: "I have reached 54 percent. Especially the questions about the tram caused me problems. I knew how to behave, but I could not call up the specific regular names." Such experiences show how important it is to prepare for the current traffic rules, especially if you haven't participated in such exams for a long time.

These experiences and feedback from the "Driving with" series illustrate the various facets of commuting and traffic safety in the Horn district. It is clear that mobility is not only a question of locomotion, but also has strong emotional and practical effects on the daily life of people.
