Coffee with the cops: Citizens' dialogue against internet crime in Maissau
a m September 30th there was a special meeting in the municipal office of Maissau: "Coffee with cops". This initiative, which is part of the Austria -wide campaign "Together. Safe", allows citizens to talk to the police in a relaxed atmosphere. Representatives of the Ravelsbach police inspection, including Commandant Michael Steiner, were on site to answer questions and discuss the concerns of the population.
The concept is simple but effective: with a cup of coffee, citizens can express their worries. A frequently addressed topic was increasing internet crime, including so -called fictitious telephone calls and the nephew truck, in which fraudsters on behalf of family members demand money. Michael Steiner emphasized the importance of spreading such information in order to sensitize the population.
interest of the population
Another concern of the Maissau citizens concerned speed restrictions in residential areas. Mayor Franz Kloiber confirmed that the community and the police work closely together in these matters. "We keep keeping close contact with the responsible police inspection in Ravelsbach, the cooperation works well," he reported. This shows how important it is to create a strong base of communication between the state institutions and the population.
The ambience was relaxed when Vice Mayor Michaela Gilli-Brickl and the Mayor Kloiber performed as a host and transformed the foyer of the municipal office into a small coffee house. The initiative was well received by the citizens present and encouraged open discussions on security -related topics.
