A shortage of skilled workers despite the stable unemployment figures in the district
The search for specialists in the Hollabrunn district remains an important challenge in view of the current labor market situation. Peter Kirchner, the head of the AMS office in the region, confidently commented on the unbroken demand for workers, despite a slight increase in unemployed. At the end of October, the district recorded 1,031 people who were actively looking for a job, which corresponds to a minimal increase of 3.1 percent compared to the previous year.
A total of 227 reported positions in the district were available at the end of October, which is a decrease of 14 percent compared to the same period last year. Unemployment has increased in particular: 493 women are registered unemployed here, which corresponds to an increase of 10.5 percent. The situation looks a little different for men; Here the number of unemployed has dropped by 2.9 percent with 538.
AMS training and regional developments
In addition, 284 people stayed in the AMS training courses, a number that rose by 26 compared to last year. This shows that many people are willing to continue their education and learn new skills to improve their chances on the job market.
The situation looks a bit more serious in Lower Austria: unemployment rose by 7.6 percent here and added up to 41,067 job seekers. The dynamic development of the regional labor market has various causes, including global economic influences and specific regional deficits. The number of open positions in the Hollabrunn district, which shows a decline, suggests that companies either hesitate to create new jobs or have difficulty finding suitable candidates.
The challenge of finding qualified specialists has already been discussed by Kirchner. The AMS reacts to this situation by promoting training offers more intensively in order to offer job seekers the opportunity to improve their qualifications and to better prepare for the requirements of the labor market. These developments are essential to not only combat unemployment, but also to strengthen the industries in the Hollabrunn district.
The situation in the district therefore requires active action on the part of the AMS and the company. It remains to be seen how the labor market situation will develop and what measures are taken to close the gap between open spots and suitable candidates. The coming months could be crucial for the stability of the job seeker market in Hollabrunn.
