Approval failure in Hollabrunn: residents fight against queues

The residents of a supervised residential complex in Hollabrunn are currently facing a major challenge: their elevator has been defective for ten days and it does not look as if the situation will soon get better. This is an enormous burden, especially for people who rely on the elevator, like the wheelchair user Sara Grünwald. "We should persevere for ten days without an elevator and are forced to shut down our lives," she describes her perceived urgency.

According to the property management, the required spare part will only be delivered on November 29, 2024. Therefore, the residents have to do without the lift in the meantime. This situation is not only uncomfortable, but also represents a significant restriction for the mobility of those affected. Many residents have doctor's appointments that they urgently need to perceive and feel the situation almost unbearable.

reactions to the information

The reaction of the property management to the symptoms was not very confident. On several inquiries, the residents were only told that they would have to wait. When an angry resident expressed her dissatisfaction, she was even thrown out of the line. "I don't have to give myself that," said the supposedly responsible person elsewhere. Sara Grünwald describes this as a slap in the face because the concerns of those affected are not taken seriously.

But positive news came: After a new request from MeinDärb, the required spare part could possibly arrive today. If this is the case, the elevator could be ready for use next Monday. "We are trying to quickly put the elevator back into operation, but we rely on the professionals who also work on problem solving at high pressure," said Bianca Pucher from the real estate management.

The uncertainty remains

Despite the assertions of the administration, many residents have the feeling of being left alone. "It is bad enough to be a day without an elevator. You just can't get out of your apartment, and the people here often have medical appointments that they could miss," explains Sara Grünwald, who sees the indifference of the administration critically. These problems are far from solved for them.

Surprisingly, the fitter found time for the repair on Friday afternoon. The residents therefore have to “only” do without the elevator for four days. This is certainly a relief for all those affected, which are often dependent on technical support.

Such incidents keep throwing a light on the need for timely maintenance and rapid spare parts procurement in residential complexes. For more information about this situation and the developments in the case of the defective elevator, See the article of www.meinbezirk.at .
