Heart cushions for hope: Gmünd's women show great solidarity!

In the heart of Gmünd, the group "Flügerlherzen" ensured a remarkable campaign that both brings joy and makes an important social contribution. Since its foundation in 2020 by three committed women, the group has sewed over 1,111 pillows and "Flügerl" and handed over to numerous facilities such as hospitals, palliative care stations and nursing homes. This was made possible by the support of many hobbyists who have joined the good cause, such as the NÖN reported.

In another part of the city, in Meidling, an interesting statistical survey was published, which examines the development of the district in 2023. According to the report, over two million people now live in Vienna, a number that has not been reached since 1910. Meidling with a population of 100,281 is an important part of this urban community. Interestingly, the district has a high proportion of participation in people who live in singles, while only 5.9 percent of residents live in larger shared apartments. These figures come from the latest statistical yearbook, such as district-meidling.at

development and challenges

Meidling also shows an interesting demographic distribution: the average age is 40.6 years and the majority of the residents are between 25 and 64 years old. Traffic and living space occupy a significant part of the district, while green spaces offer a welcome compensation. Despite the positive development, there were numerous traffic accidents with injuries and a death in 2022, which discussed the security situation in the district. The number of pets is also impressive, with over 58,000 dogs that enrich the life of the residents. Such statistical data provide valuable insights into the life of the Meidlinger, while the social initiative in Gmünd shows how community projects can change life directly.
