The focus: Austria's first community -competent community starts!
At this year's awarding of the "Anti-Stigma Awards" by "Alzheimer Europe", the "Welcome Dementia" initiative was awarded third place on December 10, 2024. This prize honors outstanding projects that are devoted to the fight against the stigmatization of dementia and promote a positive picture of sick people. Another contribution to sensitization in this area is the ORF program "deliberately healthy", which focuses on the challenges of life with dementia from November 16 to 23, 2024. According to current reports, up to 150,000 people have demented in Austria, and the number is expected to increase in the coming years. Innovative approaches, such as dementia -friendly event formats and information on the dementia therapy, are intended to help improve the quality of life of those affected and to open up new perspectives in dealing with the disease.
