Strong together: waste disposal despite the flood crisis secured
The region around Bruck/Leitha and Schwechat is currently confronted with a serious challenge. The recent flood events have put the waste incineration plant in Dürn tube out of operation, which has a significant impact on waste disposal in the area. The waste associations Gabl and AWS immediately had to take measures to ensure that the garbage continues to be disposed of efficiently.
"We are faced with a big task because the incineration plant is currently not in operation," explains a spokesman for the AWS. The decommissioning means that residual and bulky waste cannot currently be burned. In order to maintain disposal, the two associations have found an interim solution in an impressive joint effort.
efficient interim solutions found
Thanks to the cooperation between Gabl and AWS and the support of regional partners, the residual waste is now pressed into bale and is safely stored in fishery in the landfill. This measure is crucial to ensure the continuation of waste disposal during this crisis situation.
"The ability to work across opposites is particularly evident in times of crisis," notes Jürgen Maschl, the managing director of the AWS. Christian Mynha, Managing Director of Gabl, also emphasizes the importance of inter -municipal exchange and thanks Klaus Kohl, the site manager of the landfill, for his valuable support.
Despite the temporary closure of the waste incineration plant, the associations are optimistic that disposal is also secured in the current situation. However, it is appealed to the citizens to pay particular attention to how they separate their garbage and keep the amount of residual waste as low as possible. If possible, the disposal of non -urgent bulky waste should also be postponed to a later time in order to minimize the load on the intermediate stores.
In view of these unexpected challenges, it is very clear how important solid structures in waste management are. "This is proof that we are able to work together under pressure and to find solutions," continued Maschl. It remains exciting for the further development of waste disposal in the region, and it is to be hoped that the situation can be normalized again soon. For more information about the developments in the region and other latest news, see the article by www.meinbezirk.at .
