Foxes Girls celebrate their first home win and are happy about new talent

The Foxes girls team recently achieved a remarkable victory in their first home game of the season. Against the team from Tulln, they were not only able to secure their first points in the table, but also celebrated personal bests. Particularly beautiful moments were the debuts of Dana and Maria as well as Pia's first basket success in the Foxes dress. The Brucker club is proud of these successes and shows that the hard work pays off.

The game was exciting, with an even start in which both teams experienced several lead changes. The Foxes had learned from the previous game against Eisenstadt and were determined to make their defense and offense effective from the start. With a strong team performance, they were able to pull away easily after the first few minutes of the game and extend a small lead at the first half break.

Improvements on offense

The Foxes' progress was particularly noticeable in the second quarter. The regular training attendance has had a noticeable effect, as the offensive game has been running much more smoothly. The players scored points through well-executed moves, penetration and offensive rebounds, which ultimately led to a halftime score of +8 for the Bruckers. Despite the willingness of the Tulln girls to fight, led by their strong player with 22 points, the Foxes remained focused and continued to increase their lead in the third quarter.

A decisive phase of the game came in the last quarter, when an 8-0 run gave the Bruck team clear conditions. Even though there were a few small mistakes and lapses in concentration, the girls remained in control and secured their first win of the season with a final score of 50:35.

Another positive aspect is the Foxes' sustainable sporting development. In the 2023/2024 season, an all-girls team (WU12) will compete in the championship, and two girls' teams have now been formed, consisting of a total of 35 girls. The teams are coached by Günter Krakhofer and the trainers Viktoria Nikolic and Benita Seferovic. The Foxes plan to integrate a third team next season to further expand youth work.

The team's long-term goal is to build a stable women's team through continuous training work. However, there is currently still a challenge: in the age group under 10 years old (born 2014 and younger), there is unfortunately a lack of players in the girls' division. Günter Krakhofer is available to interested girls and their parents on 0681 818 55 347 to answer questions and provide information.

Finally, it should be mentioned that despite the sporting success and positive development, recent injuries, especially to the team captain, are also noted with sadness in the team family.
