Blum on the hunt: kidnapping pushes undertaker to her limits!
On February 24, 2025, the successful crime series “Totenfrau” returns to the screens, with Anna Maria bother in the leading role of undertaker Brünhilde Blum, who now has to fight harder than ever for her family. The kidnapping of her daughter Nela forces her to risk everything and go to waste again. The new season includes six exciting episodes that were filmed in Austria in the first half of 2024, including in Tyrol, Lower Austria and Vienna. It was directed by Daniel Geronimo Prochaska, based on the bestseller by Bernhard Aichner, and viewers can look forward to numerous surprising twists and turns, such as ORF reported.
A thrilling comeback
The first episode, which airs at 8:15 p.m., is called “Ghosts of the Past.” In it, Blum is not only confronted with her past past - body parts of a man she killed herself appear. While she has to spend the night in prison, the unthinkable happens: her daughter is kidnapped! She's supposed to release a video - but Blum doesn't own it. Now the undertaker is the hunted, and every decision could cost her daughter's life. “It's a family drama with a lot of action and tension,” Prochaska explained in an interview the Crown reported.
Fans of the first season can look forward to a gripping mix of drama and nerve-racking thriller, while the new episodes will be available on both ORF ON and Netflix from March 19, 2025. The double episodes will be broadcast weekly at 8:15 p.m. and 9:05 p.m., with ORF 1's new premiere day being celebrated with further series highlights.
