Serious traffic accident in Bad Vöslau: Fire brigade in action!

In a serious traffic accident in Bad Vöslau, which occurred in dense evening traffic on December 12, 2024, two drivers, an 81-year-old car driver and a 27-year-old driver of a small truck, were injured. The accident occurred around 5:10 p.m. in the underpass of Paitzriegelgasse when the older driver apparently got onto the oncoming lane and collided head -on with the oncoming delivery van, reports NÖN.AT. The older man was able to leave his vehicle independently while the young driver's seat was trapped in a small truck.

The Bad Vöslau volunteer fire brigade was immediately alerted and arrived at the scene of the accident. Operations manager Philipp Michalek described the dramatic first minutes: "We immediately started the human rescue and medical care for the injured inmate." The trapped driver was finally released with the help of a hydraulic rescue device. Due to the severity of the injuries, an emergency helicopter, Christophorus 33, was requested, which brought the patients to the State Clinic Baden after primary care. The emergency services of the fire brigade and the emergency services provided them with the securing of the accident site and the patient -friendly removal, according to the reported Fireworld.at.

Due to the cramped space, the recovery of the two accident vehicles was also a challenge, which could ultimately be successfully carried out in a nearby parking lot. In the meantime, the police took over the necessary measures for accident recording. The streets were closed from 5:15 p.m. to around 7:20 p.m. so as not to hinder the rescue and salvage work.
