Amstetten is building the largest e-charging park in Austria-pioneering project started

In Amstetten, an important project for promoting electromobility is tackled. Stadtwerke Amstetten are planning to build a large e-loading park at the Amstetten-West motorway exit. This loading park is special because it is the first in Austria to be operated independently of a petrol station. In addition to the charging stations, a lounge area with meals is also set up, which significantly increases comfort for users.

In order to realize this large project, the municipal utilities have launched a subsidiary, Ladenwerke Amstetten GmbH. Stadtwerk director Jürgen Hürner explained that a long -term building law contract with the Riedler company has been concluded for over 50 years. On the approximately 3,000 square meter site, 40 charging stations are initially built. With the complete expansion stage, up to 50 charging points could even be created, including parking spaces for transport vehicles.

technical details and infrastructure

Another important aspect of this project are the technical infrastructures that need to be developed. Three transformers are installed on the site, which provide a total connection of 4.8 megawatts. For comparison: The average performance that the city of Amstetten needs is around eight to nine megawatts. This shows the significant capacity of the new electric loading park and its important contribution to covering the increasing need for charging solutions for electric vehicles.

The decision for the location and the planning of the charging park comes at a time, in which electromobility is becoming increasingly important not only in Austria, but worldwide. With such an offer, not only local needs are addressed, but also a contribution to reducing CO2 emissions.

The planned project will offer a valuable contact point for drivers who want to switch to electromobility. The range of modern charging options ensures that both private vehicles and electric vehicles can be easily charged by companies.

By initiating this project, the Stadtwerke Amstetten show how municipal companies can promote sustainable mobility concepts and shape the infrastructure for the future. More details can be found in a recent report on www.noen.at can be read.
