New bike path on the new building belt: safe driving for all cyclists!

The bike path was set up on the inner belt side and separated from car traffic by colored concrete guides. This structural delimitation should enable safe cycling, especially for families and older people. No deterioration for motorized traffic can be expected of the three lanes for cars and trucks in this area, since they continue to offer enough space.

With the new cycle path, a direct connection to the new building belt is created, which reduces the back route from almost 400 meters to 250 meters. This measure not only aims to avoid detours, but also to improve the flow of traffic. Mobility City Councilor Ulli Sima (SPÖ) and the Neos mobility spokeswoman Angelika Pipal-Leixner inaugurated the cycle path, which underlines political support for the project.

Another essential element are the newly introduced two green arrows of crossings for walking, which also optimize the flow of traffic. The conflict potential between cycling and foot traffic at the intersections is also significantly reduced by these measures.
