After over a year of construction, the new youth club in Hard am Dorfbach has finally opened its doors! Under the direction of Fabienne Moosbrugger, who has shaped youth work in Hard for six years, a modern space was created that meets the expectations of the young people. "We searched for a better solution for a long time - barrier -free, brighter and simply more suitable for the young people," said Moosbrugger. The renovation took place with an investment of 270,000 euros by the municipality of Hard and relied on close cooperation with local companies and active young people. The new meeting point offers a lounge, table football, Playstation and a retreat for advice.

The young people themselves were particularly closely integrated into the conversion. The 13-year-old Emil, passionate singer and guitarist, has collected 5,000 euros for the redesign with his creative idea of initiating a crowdfunding project. "The project was definitely worth it," he said proudly. At the official opening, he will be on stage live and inaugurated the new meeting musically. "I play a small repertoire," said Emil. The youngsters were also actively involved in the selection of furniture, which was particularly valued by Nina (13) and Michelle (16), who were allowed to have a say with provisions for setting up. "It's great that we were asked. After all, the youth club is for us," they emphasized.

The gambling corner seems to be particularly popular, where the young people can try numerous games without having to bring their own. "This is the coolest thing here!" Warmed the 11-year-old Kilian. But the cozy area for chatting and the food offering, which accommodates longer stays, is also very well received. "Here you can exchange ideas, not just on the cell phone or in front of the television," he added. The possibility of taking a seat in retreat was also highly emphasized. "Here the red room with leather sofa is great to talk in a small group," Moosbrugger is convinced.

Today, the youth club in Schulweg 3 in Hard starts with a musical opening of Emil. The opening times are on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for everyone from 10 years and Fridays until 10 p.m. for 12 year olds. There will also be a "Saturday special" once a month. "It is incredible what has become of this room - now it can finally start!", Moosbrugger continues.
