On July 10, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on Plöckenpass-Straße, in which two motorcyclists were injured. According to Dolomitenstadt, the two Tyrolean men, 65 and 68, were on the way to Italy when the accident happened.
A 37-year-old Carinthian wanted to turn his car to the left to a parking space. In the meantime, the motorcyclists tried to overtake him. The 65-year-old biker noticed the turn signal of the car and immediately slowed down, while the 68-year-old biker did not maintain the safety distance and could not slow down in time. As a result, the motorcycles collided with the car and then with each other. Both motorcyclists were brought to the BKH Lienz with injuries. An alkotest with all those involved in the accident was negative.
