Mönchengladbacher's record -breaking: At the age of 23, all 195 countries traveled!

Mönchengladbach, Deutschland - The 23-year-old Luca Horse Möges from Mönchengladbach recently wrote history by visiting all 195 countries as the youngest person in the world. His impressive journey stretched over four and a half years and recently ended in Palau, which served as his last stop. With this milestone, he surpasses the previous record of Lexie Alford, who, however, could not visit North Korea during her trip, and whose services are currently being checked in the Guinness Book of Records. Alford, who is 21 years old, has traveled to 196 sovereign states and emphasized that there is more good things in the world than bad, while she staged her experiences as a woman while traveling.

Luca Horse Menges documented his experiences on platforms such as Tiktok and Instagram, where over three million users have followed his trip. Many of the challenges he had to master on his way are remarkable. Entry into the Sudan and North Korea in particular represented great hurdles. In North Korea, he was forced to use a minimal time window for tourists, which complicated his travel planning. Despite such difficulties, he describes his experiences with gratitude and emphasizes the hospitality that gave him in crisis regions such as Iran and Pakistan.

New projects and return to Germany

After returning to home, Luca plans to pass on his experiences and has sought to found his own travel agency "Every Country Tours", which specializes in difficult to reach countries. He describes the anticipation of returning to Germany as overwhelming. His experiences and hospitality experienced faces a number of risky situations, such as shots in Kabul or a blackmail by a police officer in Mali. These experiences have shaped his view of trips and the world, and he is now grateful for a journey that has not only brought him through different cultures, but also to its limits.

Lexie Alford, the 21-year-old, whose record is currently being examined by Guinness jury, has a slightly different story. She grew up in a family of travelers whose travel agency is located in California. Her parents influenced her curiosity about traveling, which made it possible for her to visit 72 countries on her 18th birthday. She described the logistical challenges, especially the large amounts of visa applications, as a "logistical nightmare". Nevertheless, Lexie has positively evaluated her experiences as a woman traveling alone and advised to find out about the culture and customs of the visited countries in advance.

With almost 220,000 followers on Instagram, she shares her adventure and finances her trips through savings, part -time jobs and occasional collaborations. Her last stop, North Korea, completed her on May 31, 2023, completing her trip around the world. Both young travelers are exemplary for the tireless spirit of discovery of this generation, which in times of global uncertainties find the courage to experience new things and overcome boundaries.
