Merz praises Israel: dirty work for us in the Iran conflict!
Herzlia, Israel - Chancellor Friedrich Merz praised Israel for his attack on Iran during the G7 summit in Canada. Merz commented on the edge of the summit on ZDF, where he sharply criticized the Iranian leadership and emphasized that the Mullah regime had "brought death and destruction over the world". He explained that the events of October 7 would not have been possible without the Iranian regime in Tehran. In addition, Merz mentioned the delivery of drones by Iran to Russia, which increases the concern about the destabilizing role of Iran in the Middle East.
"Israel does the dirty work for us," says Merz, who at the same time expressed respect for the Israeli army and government for her courage. He warned that without the current military pressure on Iran, the regime's terror may have continued. These statements reflect Germany's growing support for Israel in dealing with Iran, which is also evident in the reactions of other G7 countries.
The situation in the Middle East
After the escalation of the military conflicts, US President Donald Trump has not yet decided on the US military intervention on the side of Israel. Merz found that there is still no final decision by the American government for the near future. Politically, the willingness of the Mullah regime to return to the negotiating table is considered crucial. The recent attacks followed the expectation of further developments, but Merz emphasized that everything had to be waited for.
The situation remains tense, since Iran reported around 30 rockets to Israel, most of which could be intercepted, but also reports were reported. Israel replied with the destruction of several military goals in Iran and reported the death of a high -ranking commander of the revolutionary guards. Campfall vehicles and military facilities have been targeted intensively, which increases the risks of a further escalation in the region.
international and regional reactions
The G7 countries support Israel and consider Iran as a source of instability in the Middle East. In response to the aggressive Israeli attacks, several Arab states and Turkey call for a fire break and condemn the actions of Israel. The Jordanian king Abdullah II warned that the conflict could expand beyond the Middle East.
In addition, the pressure on the Iranian regime shows. The Transport Minister of Israel reports that the first Israelis who were stranded abroad due to the war with Iran will be flown home from Wednesday. Around 150,000 Israelis are currently stuck abroad, while holidaymakers are informed about rescue flights from various European cities.
The American Ministry of Foreign Affairs has meanwhile stated that the US message in Jerusalem is unable to evacuate Americans and remains closed, which contributes to concern about the security situation in the region. How the situation develops remains to be seen, while the pressure on the Iranian regime increases from both the G7 and the USA.
In this context, Merz explains that a decision-making decision of the United States will be considered as a possibility in the coming days and that both the international community and the G7 countries work closely together to promote stabilizing measures in the Middle East.
