Current Lotto trends
Lotto is very popular in Germany. According to Statista around one in three Germans regularly play the lottery, and in 2022 more than 180 people became Lotto millionaires. The most popular game form remains the lottery "6 out of 49". This lottery accounts for a significant part of the gambling market and generated sales of eight billion euros in 2022.
Although the number of lottery players in Germany is high, Statista reports that younger people in particular rarely take part in the draws. Around 60 percent of the over 45-year-olds play at least once a year, while only five percent of 18 to 25 year olds play the lottery. In addition, the jackpot remains a central attraction, especially if it exceeds the mark of 13 million euros, which could be the case with the upcoming draw.
The changes and new winning opportunities could therefore help to further increase interest and participation in the game. The players can be excited to see what the next draws will bring.
