Linz loses Lido Sounds: Festival despite success!

The Lido Sounds Festival, which has been an integral part of the Linz event calendar in the past three years, has not continued. The organizer Arcardia announced the end of the festival that took place at the Linz Danube region on Facebook. This decision triggered great disappointment with both the organizers and the visitors.

Cultural and tourism councilor Doris Lang-Mayerhofer (ÖVP) was affected by the Festival. She described the end as a painful setback for Linz and emphasized that from an economic point of view it was a noticeable loss for the city. In the past few years, the festival guests had become more important for the Hotelery in Linz.

Due to the high relevance of the festival, Lang-Mayerhofer plans to contact the Lido organizers immediately. The aim is to keep the festival at another location in Linz to further enrich the city's cultural diversity.

Linz is known for a large number of international festivals that shape the cultural life of the city. This includes the paving spectacle, one of the largest street art festival in Europe, which attracts numerous artists and over 200,000 visitors every year in July. Since its foundation in 1979, the sound cloud, which fulfills the Danube room with sound and visualizations, has also been very popular.

Another highlight is the Ars Electronica, which has been dealing with technological change and meeting art and science experts since it was introduced. In addition to these important events, the stream festival also takes place in Linz, which focuses on digital and analogous music and art. In addition, the Festival 4020 shows a wide range of the present and concert music of the present and past.

More cultural events such as the Crossing Europe Film Festival, Ahoi! Pop and the Bruckner Festival complete the diverse offer. Despite the end of the Lido Sound Festival, Linz remains a center of cultural activity and innovation.
