Kläbo triumphs again – German ski runners continue to be disappointed!

This year's Tour de Ski once again proves the superiority of Norwegian cross-country skiers. At the mass start in Toblach, the Norwegian superstar Johannes Høsflot Klæbo was able to celebrate his 91st World Cup victory and was superior to the competition. In this thrilling race he finished ahead of his compatriots Erik Valnes, Haavard Moseby and Martin Loewstroem Nyenget. The entire German team, however, fought in vain for a podium place. The promising Friedrich Moch ended up in a disappointing 39th place in the overall ranking and had to admit defeat, 42.3 seconds behind Sports show reported.

Mika Vermeulen on the road to success

Things are much more pleasing for the Austrian Mika Vermeulen, who shines close to the top. With only 2:29 minutes behind Klæbo, he impressively shows that he is one of the strongest runners. Vermeulen himself was optimistic: “We are only ten seconds away from second place and I am confident that it can work out,” said the Styrian, who is already thinking about the final climb to Alpe Cermis after a strong race. Advice is needed because in the fight for the podium he has to assert himself not only against the Norwegians, but also against other strong runners such as Hugo Lapalus and Andreas Fjorden Ree Small newspaper reported.

The results of the Tour de Ski show that the competition for German cross-country skiers is fiercer than ever. While Moch tries to find his form after his crash in the mass start, Klæbo can continue to assert his dominance. The next stages of the Tour de Ski are approaching and it remains to be seen whether the German athletes can improve their performance in order not to lose touch with the top.
