In the past two weeks, the Greek island of Santorin has struggled with a terrifying series of explosions-a total of over 14,000 earthquakes were registered, such as Kleine Zeitung reported. The fact that around 20 % of the buildings are classified as illegally is particularly alarming. Several controls have led to 80 violations found, as AOL emphasized in a current report. The testing of these construction projects on the rim shows worrying defects, whereby architect Vassilis Hatzipetros indicates the urgent need for geotechnical studies.
