Schönsonntagmarkt 2025: Tradition remains in Wolfsberg city center
A gratifying confirmation for the lovers of traditional markets in Wolfsberg: The Schönsonntagmarkt will take place again in the city center in 2025. This was recently announced by Mayor Hannes Primus (SPÖ), the responsible city councilor Isabella Theuermann (FPÖ) and Managing Director Christian Schimik von den Wolfsberger Stadtwerke. The market that falls on the Corpus Christi weekend is carried out between June 20 and 22, 2025.
The Schönsonntagmarkt is one of the two traditional markets of the city, and the decision to leave it in the city center was made after a positive experience in the previous year. At that time, around 30,000 people visited the market, which the organizers are confident. "We have never moved away from our point of view that the market in the city is an enrichment for Wolfsberg," said Vice Mayor Alexander Radl (SPÖ). He added that the move from another site led to a considerably better visitor frequency.
commitment of the city representatives
The commitment of the city representatives is remarkable. The decision to continue the Schönsonntag market reflects the conviction that a central location ensures more visitors and a more lively ambience. The advantages for market participants are also significant: "The organizational effort for the participating companies is lower," emphasizes Radl. This positive development is evident in the increasing attractiveness of the market.
Theuermann also supports the continued existence of the market in the city center and also announced that it would implement a long -cherished wish of the citizens. She speaks of a planned return of the popular Italian festival, which is to be celebrated in the form of an "Italian day" on the market Saturday. This will be a day full of Italian flair with music, festive decoration and, last but not least, delicious food. "We invite all hosts to contribute to the success of this day with their know-how and gastronomic skills," she said.
satisfaction among the showmen
The showmen are also pleased with the decision to leave the Schönsonntagmarkt in the city center. Manfred Stampfer, operator of the "Crazy Wave" driving business, was positive about the new market area: "The market in the city has a very special flair. This is attractive to visitors and therefore also more economically interesting for us showmen." The anticipation for the upcoming events is noticeable, and the hope of a successful implementation of the Schönsonntag market remains high. All eyes are focused on the upcoming preparations to create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
