Christmas in Carinthia: Eight newborns bring joy into the country!
A very special Christmas magic is above Carinthia! On December 24, 2024, eight newborns saw the light of day in the Kabeg hospitals. At 0:45 a.m. the first Carinthian "Christkind", a little girl, was born, followed by two other boys in the morning in Klagenfurt. In Villach, too, two “twin Christ children” enjoyed joy, while a small boy in Wolfsberg completed happiness. All newborns and their parents are good, and the joy is noticeable in the families, as the Gailtal Journal reported.
In the middle of this festive mood, Bishop Josef Marketz called the Carinthian to be active “light charms”. In his Advent shirt letter, which was read out in the services, he encouraged people to spread hope and to face selfishness and discord. "Belief are lights of hope, a remedy for the world," said the bishop and spoke about the diocesan advent campaign "You are light". This initiative aims to promote the good in relationships and to show gratitude for the positive influences in life. Bishop Marketz also emphasized the upcoming "Holy Year 2025", which is under the motto "Pilgrim of Hope" and should stimulate joint hope and cohesion, such as katholisch.at reported.
