New primary care center in Villach: a milestone for Carinthia

The focus is on health care in Carinthia, especially in Klagenfurt, where a primary care center already works. Now there is news from Villach: An operator was selected there for another health center. This was announced by the responsible health officer Beate Prettner (SPÖ) on Saturday. The Kabeg, Kärntner Health AG, was awarded the contract after the originally favorite team of the Medical Association had canceled. The new center is built in the immediate vicinity of the LKH Villach, which is intended to further strengthen the centralized health care of the region.

The construction of this center in Villach is part of a larger plan to improve medical care in Carinthia. Next Monday, the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) will start tenders for primary care units (PVE) in the cities of Völkermarkt, Wolfsberg and Spittal. "With these measures we take a big step towards a better, nationwide offer," continued Prettner.

financing and outlook

The financial resources for the new centers are provided by social security institutions, the state of Carinthia and the Carinthian health fund. Overall, additional payments of up to 1.7 million euros over four years are planned for the creation of the multi -professional team, which can not only include doctors, but also physiotherapists and social workers. This sum is bound to the submitted supply concepts and is intended to ensure that high -quality health care is guaranteed.

In addition, a single support of up to 180,000 euros is provided to cover necessary purchases such as IT systems and rental costs. These financing strategies could help to significantly reduce the burden on hospital legacies by offering the patient faster and targeted treatment offers near their places of residence.
