Tourism in Carinthia: The change in the hotel industry

A quiet change runs through Carinthia because a quarter of hotel companies had to close in the past ten years. At the same time, the number of commercial apartments increases significantly without a clear counter strategy being recognizable. In a country that relies strongly on tourism, the problems of lack of staff, rising costs and shortened vacation stays are omnipresent.

Development towards fewer hotels and more apartments could have long -term effects on the tourism sector in Carinthia. It remains to be seen how the tourism industry will develop in view of these changes.
