Special advent campaigns of the HLW Spittal: Together for the community

The second class of the technical school for social professions at the HLW Spittal has launched an outstanding advent project that will touch people's hearts. In a joint action with the state of Carinthia, the school was not only creative, but also promoted social interactions within the school community and beyond.

On November 22, 2024, a beautiful fir tree was handed over to the school, provided by Carinthian Christmas tree farmers. The ceremonial handover took place in the presence of State Councilor Sara Schaar and the head of the Oberkärntner girls' and women counseling, Angelika Hinteregger. Michael Kopp, the chairman of the Christmas tree farmers, was also present and supported this remarkable project. The students of 2FSB had the honor of decorating the tree, which is now splendid in the courtyard of the school.

The project goals are clearly defined and things such as creativity, teamwork and strengthening the class community are the top priority. An already defined goal is to strengthen the school community of the HLW family and to raise awareness of rituals and contemplation. After the planned school Christmas party, the fir tree will be handed over to the Oberkartner girls' and women's advice. This handover will serve to enrich and make the Christmas season in the women's shelter.

The HLW Spittal attaches great importance to sustainability. As soon as the fir tree is no longer required, it finds a new use- it is processed into herbal salt, the proceeds of which are donated to the association of Oberkartner girls' and women's advice. This initiative not only takes into account the social aspects, but also actively lived the idea of environmental friendliness.

In addition, the project class was given fir green, which is used to bind Advent wreaths. These will make up part of the festive school decoration and play a central role in the daily morning encounters in the run -up to Christmas. On December 2, 2024, the children of the Spittal parish kindergarten have the opportunity to participate in baking and handicrafts with the pupils of the 2FSB, which should further strengthen the sense of community.

The adventure encounters at the school take place on several dates: on December 2nd, 9th and 12th, 2024, each at 8:00 a.m. A special highlight will be the school Christmas party on December 20, in which the project class will make an important contribution.

The project class is accompanied by experienced professors, including Eva-Maria Scherzer, Gabriela Wiednig and Susanne Lücking, under the direction of Rosemarie Lichtner.
