The regional references in her works tell universal stories about people and nature.
Art and culture in Carinthia
The exhibition in the Parkschlössl is part of Carinthia's active art and culture scene, which is influenced by policies like that of Ktn.gv.at the new cultural strategy described above is strengthened. This strategy, which is being developed under the leadership of cultural officer LH Peter Kaiser, is made up of a comprehensive participatory process that will run over two and a half years.
The aim of this strategy is to actively involve the Carinthian population and to promote a dialogue with artists and cultural workers. It is of great importance that politics protect the freedom of art and allow creative forms of expression, regardless of the political framework. In this sense, the region supports events and promotes the preservation of cultural diversity in Carinthia/Koroška.
Diversity of artistic expressions
The diversity of the Carinthian art scene is currently also visible at another exhibition. Opened on Wednesday evening Ktn.gv.at the show “real: abstract” at the MMKK in Klagenfurt, which shows works by Richard Kaplenig and Julian Taupe. Kaplenig presents realistic painting in black and white, while Taupe works with a colorful palette and creates abstract compositions. This exhibition will be on view until February 16, 2025 and is part of a project that promotes various forms of artistic expression.
In summary, it can be said that the promotion of art in Carinthia not only benefits local artists such as Gatterer and Viehberger, but is also anchored in broader cultural contexts. Current developments show how important a lively and diverse art scene is for the identity and cultural experience of the region. The commitment of state politics and the creative exchange between artists and the population are responsible for this.
