Carinthia starts climate protection initiative for older people!

A new course in Carinthia is a significant sign in the fight against the challenges of climate change, especially for the elderly and people in need of care. The initiative was launched in order to impart valuable knowledge of climate change and specific adaptation measures to employees in the health, nursing and social service (GPS). As klick-kaernten.at reported, the course includes four practical modules that specifically aim to offer help in everyday home life. Among other things, the participants learn how they can protect themselves and their clients in heat.

"With this course we create a valuable basis for the best possible support to support the best possible older people, those in need of help and care and their relatives," said Prettner, who highlighted the importance of this training. This advanced training is not only anchored in Carinthia, where it is already being implemented in over 100 municipalities, but also supplements the existing nursing services through timely information about climate adaptation and heat protection measures.

diverse project ideas for teachers

In addition to this important initiative, a teaching and action package was presented in Vienna to help teachers to address climate change in the students' living environment. According to Bildungshub.Wien it offers an extensive collection of project ideas that should make the complex connections of the climate clear and to initiate changes in behavior. The priorities range from climate protection to sustainable mobility to nutrition, which offers teachers a variety of approaches to implement them.
