Jäger in mortal danger: mountain rescue Leogang saves injured from the night!

In the night of November 30, 2024, the mountain rescue Leogang was alerted to a dramatic effort in the Leoganger Steinbergen. A 70-year-old hunter fell near his hunting lodge and suffered serious injuries. Immediately twelve mountain rescuers made their way to help the injured under difficult conditions. The assignment took place in complete darkness, which made the rescue more difficult, as meinzirk.at reported.

On site, a doctor who was part of the rescue team took over the first medical care of the hunter to stabilize him. Due to the steep, rough terrain and bad weather conditions, the air rescue of the Austrian Rescue Air (ARA) RK 1 from Carinthia was requested in order to carry out a quick and safe recovery of the injured person. After a successful rescue, the hunter was immediately transported to a nearby hospital in order to receive further medical treatment. The mountain rescuers also ensured that his loyal hunting dog was also brought into the valley, such as Sn.at added.
